On June 11, Zhang Hu, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee and executive deputy governor of Guangdong province, introduced the latest achievements of the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area at the media briefing session of 'Opportunities in the GBA'.
Zhang Hu highlighted that after five-year of efforts, the comprehensive strength of the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area has continued to grow.The collaboration among the GBA has become more extensive and in-depth.
Zhang Hu also said that the construction of an international first-class Bay Area and a world-class city cluster has taken solid steps forward.The economic output of the GBA exceeded 14 trillion yuan by 2023, from 10.8 trillion yuan in 2018, achieving one ninth of the domestic economic output with less than 0.6% of the land area, and releasing the high-quality development potential and energy, which fully demonstrate the institutional advantage and vitality of ‘one country, two systems’.
